Let's talk about hard data: why is it so important nowadays?

We live in an era when sustainability has become a buzzword for many companies. However, to turn commitments into concrete actions, it is necessary to go beyond the statements of principle and build on solid, verifiable data. Our Co-founder Elena Lazar recently emphasized the crucial importance of hard data in the journey toward authentic and measurable sustainability.
Some of the roles of data in sustainability:
Environmental certifications: in order to obtain and maintain prestigious environmental certifications, companies must demonstrate their progress in reducing environmental impact with hard data.
Sustainability tools: the tools used to measure and improve corporate sustainability require accurate and reliable data.
Prevention of greenwashing: only through analysis of objective data can one avoid falling into greenwashing and transparently communicate one's results.
To get a complete picture of their environmental performance, companies should collect data on, for example, energy consumption (water, gas, electricity), CO2 emissions, machine production, raw material utilization, production process efficiency, etc.
Collecting and analyzing large amounts of data can be complex and requires the use of advanced technological tools. IoT platforms, such as our Onsystem, enable real-time monitoring of energy consumption, identification of inefficiencies, and process optimization.

Data is the lifeblood of authentic and measurable sustainability: investing in tools and technologies for data collection and analysis is a critical step for companies that want to make a difference. Innovation System is proud to contribute to this journey, offering innovative solutions for sustainable resource management.
