What is the Carbon Footprint of Organization? And why did we measure it?
Sustainability is one of the core values of the work we do every day at Innovation System: we are committed to supporting companies on their path to energy conservation and decarbonization. We believe it is crucial to set a good example ourselves first and foremost.
For this very reason, together with the work of Erika Francescon of SustainMe, we have created the Organization Carbon Footprint, an in-depth analysis of our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
This study allows us to:
> Understand the environmental impact of our activities, identifying the various emission sources and quantifying the magnitude.
> Take responsibility for our contribution to climate change.
> Define an action plan to reduce emissions including through possible offsets.
The analysis found that our CO2 equivalent emissions in 2023 are 33.65 tons. The main sources of emissions are transportation, both the road transport of employees (commuting) and the transport of goods and products, and electricity consumption from the national grid.
This suggests to us that the energy efficiency path we have taken within our offices in addition to shrewdness in purchasing and commuting will help reduce our carbon footprint even more, and to never let our guard down.
Together with Erika, we have created the full report of our Carbon Footprint, which you can download here:
The Carbon Footprint is just one piece of our commitment to sustainability. In fact, we have created a new page on our website, "Sustainability," where you can find:
Our mission and goals on the subject.
Our concrete initiatives to spread awareness, through dedicated events and webinars.
The network of partners we have established over time to generate positive impact.
With the Carbon Footprint and its resulting actions, we are committed to doing our part to combat climate change and reduce and offset our environmental impact. It's not easy, but we try hard.
